Mahr Ships Laboratory Scale MMD System to Chemical Supplier

Mahr recently built this laboratory-scale two-part meter mix dispensing unit for a well-known chemical supplier. In the past, it had been difficult to prove the concept with the mixing capabilities already in place (if any) at the customer’s site. Standard off the shelf meter mix equipment does not have the capability and flexibility to change materials, rates and ratios the way the Mahr 2Part MMD Lab unit can. The chemical supplier was able to demonstrate their materials’ chemistry and performance ability on-site with multiple potential customers which ultimately resulted in more sales.

This compact design makes transporting easy from one customer site to the next. The unit can be purged to change materials while PTFE coating provides for easy cleanup and 110 V power allows you to plug in anywhere. The system is operated via HMI control and the PLC-based unit has the ability for variable ratios on the fly. Our positive displacement precision gear metering pumps included in the system provide accuracy of +/- 1%. The standard unit includes a two-part static mix head.

If your process calls for more complex conditions, the unit is also available with options such as heating, degas, and agitation. Recirculation and flow meters can also be added for closed-loop control, offering accuracy within tenths of a percent. Our world-class line of mix heads is also available when applications call for static, dynamic, static/dynamic mixing. All mix heads have either one-shot or recirculation valves. A wide variety of tips and nozzles are available to provide specific spraying and/or coating needs.
